Description
Hippogryph silver pendant with small pearl
Handcrafted by Roberto Intorre
This pendant is part of a collection inspired by the famous poem by Ludovico Ariosto Orlando Furioso, and was presented for the first time at the SalinaDocFest in Salina. The jewels of the Orlando Furioso collection represent an opportunity to dream. In dreams, we can be whoever we choose, we can be all the things they are, brave, vulnerable, even in love.
We could be the hippogryph, untamable creature that journeys to the moon;. or we could be Orlando, blinded by love; or yet, we could be Bradamante, the female warrior fiercely in love.
Roberto Intorre is an architect, a designer and a goldsmith who uses his creations to tell story of his land, Sicily. The blue of the sea, the red of the coral, the black of the lava stone or the green of the prickly pear. These are only some of the sources of inspirations behind his jewels. Each one of them has its birth, its story and identity, which is slowly shaped thanks to skilled hands and careful handicraft work.
