Born in 1993, the young Giovanni Di Giandomenico completed his studies at Palermo's Conservatory, where he acquired most of his academic notions, which indeed served him as the starting point to go beyond the classic style of the "piano solo". Lisca and Q both came out on December the 14th 2015, and they switch between the contemporary piano of th former and the electronic experimentation of the latter
The pianist describes the genesis of these works as follows:
«With Lisca (fishbone), I go back to the piano solo dimension. This work and Q are deeply simmetrical. While Q was born over a year, between 2014 and 2015, during a journey, through a succession of accumulations and elaborations, Lisca was born instead instantaneously, in a single, familiar place (Almendra Music study, in Palermo) and with a single instrument: a piano. Lisca is composed of three improvised piano tracks, recorded in studio during a single take.»
