The Moorish Heads are a very traditional piece of Sicilian pottery. They can represent young Moors or beautiful young women. You can often see them displayed on balconies or terraces all over the island, used as vases or decorative objects inside the houses. Their origin dates back to the time Sicily was dominated by the Moors and is told by a legend.
If you wish to know more about it, you can check our article Sicilian Tales. Love and revenge in the legend of the Moorish Heads.
