The Don Corleone hands represent some traditional Sicilian and/or international gestures.
The hand with thumb and little finger up has at least two main meanings: if the hand is in a vertical position, then it's the international "phone" gesture. If the hand is horizontal instead, it's an old hawaiian gesture used by surfers, meaning "hang loose".
Don Corleone ceramic is manufactured by artist Antonio Forlin, who lives and works in Taormina. His style is expressed through an explosion of colours, mixed with modern and geometrical lines.
