India ink on paper
Size 42 x 29.7 cm
Strong trunks that almost look like they're made of rock rather than wood, roots and branches that seem to reach out, beyond the observer's field of view, the former going deep down into the ground, the latter almost stretching out of the paper, like arms.
Much more than simple vegetation, the trees of the natura antropomorfa (anthropomorphic nature) by Stefania Cordone possess a sculpted physicality, shapes that look almost human and leave us in admiration, marking a stronger-than-ever bond between mankind and nature.
Stefania Cordone is an artist who lives and works in Castelbuono, where she is also Artistic Director in Putia. If you wish to know more you can check her page on our Artists section.
