A vintage memory from Castelbuono, a piece of its history and tradition, a window to a past that's gone and yet still alive in the town's identity, never forgotten.
The photograph portrays a young woman, most likely a tourist, who visited Castelbuono sometimes between the end of the 50s or the 60s (there's still an ongoing debate concerning the exact time). On the background you can see the Arch of Saint Anne which leads directly to the castle square.
There's little doubt that the woman was in fact a foreigner: if you look closely, you'll clearly notice the contrast between her clothes and the ones wore by the ladies at the balcony on the left.
At the time clearly, taking a picture with a donkey was already a must!
This photograph is part of our exclusive collection Castelbuono Caput Mundi which collects talent and creativity, embodied in products that say something about our little town. Only on Putia.eu!
