Stefania Arcieri – also known as Les Oies - is a Sicilian draftswoman and illustrator specialised in silkscreen printing who works between Palermo and the South of France. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Palermo and later at the École Superieure d'Arts of Cambrai.
She takes part in a number of projects in the field of small publishing and self-production of books: Le Cagibi (France), Studio Brushwood (Palermo), Le 38 Quai de Notre-Dame (Tournai, Belgium), Edizioni Precarie (Palermo), Banzaii (Montpellier, France), Les Editions Terriennes (Toulouse, France).
She also drew for Zanichelli, Barrémag (Saint Etienne, France), Soft Revolution, Il Sud Magazine (Palermo), Pot-pourri magazine (Palermo).
Paper has always been her favourite working material. With it, she makes whatever her imagination suggests her, looking for inspiration in DIY and self-production. All her work shows her childlike attitude towards life, a dreamlike world made of fantasy creatures. The result is a series of unique artistic objects where the paper itself - as well as its content - has a story to tell.
She loves to work with different kinds of papers and is a supporter of the do-it yourself policy: she often plans workshops and events likes to show people (during workshops for example) how to self-produce books.
