Vera Carollo is a sculptor and a painter from Castelbuono who graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence. As an artist, she is extremely versatile and uses a number of different techniques: painting, sculpture, drawing and more.
The main theme of all her artwork is mankind and its fragility. More in detail, Vera investigates human identity, that she sees as a collage made of diverse life experiences. Everything is immersed in a romantic - almost dreamlike - atmosphere, where the focus is the expression of feelings.
The viewer feels wrapped in a gentle caress, something that touches you deeply. Vera herself defines her own artistic research as a measure of the "weight of the soul".
About herself, the artist says:
“I have always longed to travel through people and their stories, concealed inside or just lightly drawn on their faces, as if they were half aware of wearing them".
