The series of drawings "fighters" portray a specific time in the artist's past, where he himself was a fighter and practised combat sports. The drawings are a mix of simple collages and objects trouvés: stencils, stickers, fragments of graph paper, etc. Small objects belonging to a distant past, commemorated with this drawings.
In a way, Andrea Buglisi remains a fighter to this day, though he has moved his "fighting ring" to his art: with his irony and sagacity, he creates visual short-curcuits that mock society, its nevrosis and contradictions. If you wish to know more, you can check his page on our Artists section.
