Ribelli (Rebels) is part of the series "Rebel Hearts", the most recent artistic project by painter Maurizio Pometti.
The artist himself describes his current research as follows:
"Each place has a memory, a story, a nest of life. It's impossible to delete every single moment, even when the memory fades, some of it will always be part of us. A landscape is not just a landscape, it is also something that is part of our memory."
My current research was born from this thought, the memories of the ghosts of my family. I say ghosts because what I paint is not just pictures or portrayals of my parents, but my fears and joys as well. I believe all of this is a chance to think deeply about things, we are all chances. Sometimes I face all of this with irony, sometimes not so much.
Cuori Ribelli (Rebel Hearts) is a game, a way of coming back to beautiful and simple things, to childhood. Having fun with little. Rebel with kindness, without screaming, without a reason to be happy. Dwelling in this thought, my palette lights up, it deepens the power of the colours, those primary colours I discovered as a child.
